Sean Kwak (Piano) – Los Angeles Branch
Loyola High School (Class of 2023)
I have been playing the piano for as long as I can remember and it has become an important part of my life. However, joining Love in Music as a junior became an eye-opening experience for me. Once I joined Love in Music, I had no idea what to expect because it was my first time teaching someone. I was also a little nervous because I was not sure if I would be able to become a good teacher or not. Regardless, I still had to teach.
With each week passing, I finally understood how difficult it is being a teacher and how you had to be attentive to the student. However, I was able to learn from mistakes and get better along the way. Not only did I grow as a person and as a teacher, I was also able to watch my students grow as well. Meeting other high school students my age and the students who had the same passion as me regarding music helped me adjust to the new environment I was in. From the weekly lessons to the winter and spring concerts, I was fully able to enjoy my time here and get to know everyone else better.
I am thankful for my time here at Love in Music and want to thank everyone for their willingness and contribution to the organization as a whole. Although my time here at Love in Music was short, I wish the best for everyone and hope that everyone continues to give it their all.
