Renee Lee (Violin) – Los Angeles Branch
North Hollywood High (Class of 2023)

I started to volunteer with Love in Music back in eighth grade as an amateur violinist, completely new to the teaching experience and to the music community as a whole. On paper, teaching young children music didn’t seem so hard. But being a part of this community meant something more—it meant being dedicated, thoughtful, and extremely patient. Watching different students grow into full-fledged musicians constantly inspired me to put in more effort, and I hope that my influence has been an inspiration for them as well.

During my years with Love in Music, I have met so many kind, dedicated, talented people, all who have helped me become not only a better teacher, but also a better musician, friend, and leader. Growing with this organization has been undoubtedly one of the most influential experiences I have ever had, and even as I move onto the next chapter of my life, it will always remain a major part of who I am. Before closing this message, I’d like to thank all those who supported me through my journey with Love in Music, especially the students who tried their best to show up every week and learn this amazing thing called music. Thank you for helping me embrace the community through music!
