Love in Music has been a very impactful organization that has taught me a lot of lessons. After spending the last 4 years with this group, I saw how much teaching children across Los Angeles can make an impact on my community, especially when we provide free instruments and lessons. I thought that I would simply be giving lessons to kids, but they ended up teaching me a lot about their lives and the impact Love in Music had on their lives.
Every Saturday, I looked forward to teaching the children about music and learning more about what was going on in their lives. By doing this, I created long lasting relationships with my students and made sure that they understood the power of music. As I head off to college, I will always remember how these children played music and the impact they made on my own identity. I learned to solve problems and make solutions, all while having fun. This group is not just about earning service hours, but more so to grow as individuals and learn to collaborate with the larger group in Los Angeles. I will always be thankful for Love in Music and will continue to pursue music education in the future!
