Skylar Kim (Piano)

Skylar Kim (Piano) – South Bay Branch
West High (Class of 2022)

With ten years of piano background, I wanted to spread what music had done with my life.

Although we each have our own, piano was my way of communication, adaptation, and simply talent. Love in Music welcomed me in my last year of high school, and I easily adapted to our schedule and needs. Although it was short, the time I spent here granted me the greatest honor of seeing my younger self in my students. Being the teacher opened up another perspective of teaching.

Our South Bay teachers and I obtained the skills that shaped me through our school year: patience, responsibility, and leadership. We made a stronger connection than anywhere else. I had acquainted with music with my students and I cried the last day we ever saw each other. They were tenacious and have shown me something that I could have never seen on my own: growth. From being a shy little student to a piano coordinator, I realized how far music had taken me.

Love in Music made it more difficult for me to leave: the energetic students, encouraging members, and musical teachers who improved and grew the students’ instrumental journey. Thank you for supporting my continuation in music and the wonderful people that made Love in Music thrive!
