I was introduced to Love in Music by a friend. When I first joined I was nervous because I didn’t know anyone and I didn’t have a lot of experience teaching. However, my friends helped me ease into the environment and eventually it became fun. I still remember how I felt when I taught my first student. I was racking my brain trying to remember the teaching skills we were taught in our first zoom meeting. It was so surprising to me when they actually worked and the students got more motivated. Seeing their bright faces after learning something new motivated me to keep teaching so I can see them happy and proud again. It feels like I not only learnt how to teach but also gained life lessons from this experience. The connections I got to make with the students and teachers are so precious and I’m extremely thankful for this opportunity.
