April 17, 2017

Love in Music will open the 25th Anniversary Commemoration Concert for the 4.29 LA Riots on April 29, 2017 at 3 PM at the Oriental Mission Church. This large-scale event, bringing together the Korean, Black, and Hispanic communities, will feature Love in Music’s ensemble of 80 members—including Black and Hispanic children benefiting from the program and Korean volunteers—performing You Raise Me Up. The concert will also feature the Love in Music Ensemble comprised of the volunteers performing Jean Sibelius’ Finlandia, Op. 26, led by conductor Yoon-Jae Park.

Gloria Lee, the Executive Director of Love in Music said “It is even more meaningful to have a role in an event that reflects on the incident of the racial riots. In a society where underlying racial tensions still exist, I hope this event sends a message about fostering racial harmony, positively changing perceptions of the Korean community, and building a more inclusive society.”

Love in Music performed at the 20th Anniversary Commemoration Concert for the 4.29 LA Riots as well.
